Summary in Plain English:
Markdown Portal does not collect, transmit, or store your documents, text, code, or converted files. All Markdown parsing, conversions (HTML, PDF, Word, Plain Text), formatting, and linting happen completely inside your web browser on your computer.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Unlike traditional web services that send your documents to a remote server for processing, Markdown Portal is built on a 100% client-side architecture. When you paste text, edit markdown, or upload a file:
- Your file never leaves your local machine.
- No copies of your Markdown or converted files are stored on any server.
- We do not log the contents of your text, tables, or links.
- No personal identification or account information is requested.
2. Local Storage (Draft Autosave)
Some tools, such as the Markdown Editor, utilize your browser's native localStorage feature to automatically preserve your draft in case you accidentally refresh or close the tab. This data remains strictly on your device and can be cleared at any time by clicking "Clear" or clearing your browser's site data.
3. Analytics and Metrics
We may use lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics (such as Plausible) to track aggregate visitor trends (e.g. which tools are most popular) without storing cookies, IP addresses, or personal fingerprinting data.
4. Third-Party Links
Our site contains external links to official Markdown specifications and documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
5. Contact Information
If you have any questions or concerns regarding our privacy practices, please contact us via our Contact Page.
